Some highlights of my last few weeks...

The picture came out blurry, but I got on the metro after work and there was NO ONE on my whole metro car. It was awesome.

Found out  I can reserve one of the grand pianos at work.

At the "drag race". Drag queens race in heels, I couldn't see very well but I'm pretty sure Sailor Moon won.

Kayaking the Potomoc

This past weekend I decided to finally go to an event through meetup.com and went to an event organized by the Potomac River Keepers. I had been kayaking a few times before but never in DC even though I've been meaning to. The fee for the event included two hours of kayaking/canoeing/standup paddle boarding beginning with a guided tour. I ended up showing up a bit late (no surprise there) so I had to catch up to the group which was already way upriver. The forecast had originally said rain but it turned out being a totally perfect day for kayaking; bright and sunny but not too hot.

Belated New Room Pics

Since I moved into my new place at the beginning of the month I thought it was about time to share some pictures of how it looks. It took my awhile to get my room set up since it is a pretty small space and I didn't want it to feel too cluttered. There were also multiple Ikea trips involved which included one very long wait in the exchanges line. But now it is all set up except for some decorations I have accumulated over the years that don't have a home yet (you can from the pictures there is not a lot of surface space).
